So my BJ44 died a few months back, AAA replaced a battery, then towed me.. I pulled the starter, and it's fine, the old truck mechanic said most likely needs voltage regulator, so I got that, and a second matching battery.. When I try to connect the 2 batteries(+ to -), it's way too hot, actually melting the terminal and sticking.. So, if the batteries are fine, voltage regulator is fine, and alternator is fine, why is there so much juice when I try to connect the 2 batteries? What do I check next?? Thankfully, I see no smoke, I smell no smoke.. Even if I'm supposed to connect the 2 batts first, then the starter, it's still happening.. Not sure if this matters, but had to try. Any help greatly appreciated.
