I say don't cut the tub. Mine is cut and I wish it weren't.

I personally wouldn't cut the panels, but if you are not planning on making her beautified and you think you'll never want to take the flares off, I say go for it if that's what you like. I can't remember, does your 40 have a lift? I know you are probably looking at the aesthetics of the tire sticking out. I think if you were to lift it a little more it might not be so appearant. It's hard to explain what I'm talking about here on the web. Anyways the flares look good, but it's the jeep look.....

I wouldn't cut a perfectly good stock tub, if that's what you have.

Nice! I just ordered one. I was trying to figure out what I was going to do for a cheap 24 volt gauge. $4.89 with shipping aint bad! Hopefully it will last more than a day or two...

I had those TJ flairs mounted originally. They looked ok, but stuck out way further than my 35x12.5x15's on 3.5" bs wheels so I took them off. I ended up just enlarging the wheel opening following the stock lines.

33-1250 on 15x10 wheels and they cover all the tread and just a small amount of side wall sticks out. I'm guessing your wheels are 8's. This full coverage is what I keep thinking about ... But Sully now has me rethinking 10.50's :(

My Aqualu tub is hacked to s*** from 17 years of modifications on my pretty much trail only rig. The thing that sucks is that I can MIG all day but I can't TIG so unless I buy an $800.00 spool gun I need to farm out the repair work and pay someone else to fill the holes and weld in some patches (gas door from the switch to propane, wheel openings from the rear stretch etc.).

I would skip the cut.

Yep, my rims are 8" wide.

I'd go to 8s with the 12.50s... Then switch to 10.50s later if you like.
