I bought the Some basic Monroe shocks, they were harsh, I took them out and got KYB Performance Excel G SHOCKS as the shock replacements as it was said to restore the original ride .

I've driven on B & C roads all over the Island with the dead shocks for 2 years and it was better. Its now bouncy, and bounding with the potholes and uneven surfaces.

Please offer advice as to what shock can give me the most comfortable ride.

DO i need to change the original 40 YO springs now, Is that the problem?

Potholes will wear out shocks faster than smooth paved roads. It simply means they need to be replaced sooner. Not sure they will last any longer for you but I wanted to be able to adjust my shocks to fit my driving. I went with Rancho RS9000 XL adjustables.
