I've noticed that the BJ40s all seem to have inoperative oil pressure and water temp gauges... the needles are always on L. I'm told by one person that the water temp gauges on the BJs in Central America don't register because the thermostats are removed (typically). A lot also ave 50amp ammeters that seem useless. Are these issues really typical?

My temp gauge worked even without a thermostat coming from Costa Rica. Oil pressure gauge didn’t. I have since added a thermostat and Dakota Digital gauge cluster. Everything works now.
