BJ 74 Temperature gauge borken-- help (1 Viewer)

Picked up a 88 BJ74 the other day.
Sweet truck. The temp gauge is not working on it.
Is this a common problem?
Any one out there with a FSM? How do I test the temperature sensor?

yep very typical stock toyota gauges are crap....
