Quite simple actually.......the LJ78 was already in the U.S. I simply had it titled in my home state.

finally finished the seat shift. 120mm back and 100 higher, to store my recovery gear and gain extra leg room. Pics attached.

Any headroom issues with the 100mm rise?

not really. my boy is 6'1" and his head just touches the headliner. The extra legroom more than makes up for the lack of headroom.

I though that unless they were OEM, side mounted seats would not pass a MIV .

damn if i know ...
i do what i want and have not had issues. i do believe that it is a safety issue that has to be considered, if having your kids knees right against your spine is safe then so be it.

the law also states that if the vehicle is not equiped with seat belts from the factory you don't have to install them ... how many people follow that law?

BJ74 JDM rear seats had a terrible back recline angle.. so did this to gain a little recline.. moving th rear latch is a big fan work.. so compromising on leg room
