Hi all,

I am a new to the forum, i have been a member for a few months but i have been mostly just reading and not commenting.

I am in need of some part numbers, i checked the part number thread and could not find anything. I am looking for a master and slave cylinder for my BJ 60. It is a 1985 but was manufactured in nov. 1984. It is a 5 speed (h55f).

I live in Oregon and am wondering if i will have to import the part from Canada or if i should be able to find it in the US.

Thanks in advance for your answer and thanks for the great forum you all have hear. This forum was essential to me during the import process.

Howdy. You should be able to use the master from an FJ60 with no trouble... in fact that's what I am using in my BJ60... as to the slave, it's mounted on the opposite side but I think it's also the same as on the FJ... maybe someone here will correct me, but I think you will find it cheaper and easier to get them for the FJ60 rather than trying to import them.

I think the slave will be ok if its 84-90. The 90 onwards was smaller on some models and had the mounting holes redrilled

Still looking for the part #. I have tried both of the master cylinders for the FJ60(thur4/85 and after4/85) and neither are close. Is it posible that i have a booster on the clutch that is different than the FJs.

here is a pic of the master cylinder.

thanks again

The FJ60 and the BJ60 cylinders are different (master for sure). Especially if there is a booster involved (like yours). The Toyota part number for the master is: 31401-60022
I don't have a number for the slave right now but should be able to get it later in the weekend.
When it come to aftermarket stuff, I have not been able to find any for a BJ60 with a booster, rebuild kits are cheaper by far but the ones that I had did not work for too long. Then again it also depends on the actual cylinder and how much damage it has, how much dirt is in the lines, how much rust you have on the booster (where the pushrod is), etc, etc. If you need more info you can always contact Steve at EBI in the Vancouver area (mud_guppie on the forum).
I will PM you the part number (if I have it) for the slave and the rebuild kit.
Good luck.

1st off, download EPC and start getting familure with it. Do a search on this site for download info. Many times if you have the part number you need you can source from a USA dealer, or C-Dan on this site.

Nov 1984 is the changeup month as you know...so depending on which side you are will determine the numbers for you. Try the post numbers 1st.

Clutch Master with booster I get 31401-60020, then 21, and it seems 22 as cross up numbers. It might be 31410-60050 (pre 84/11).

Clutch Slave I get 31470-60120 for the slave. It might be 60110 (pre 84/11)

Take these numbers with a dash of salt, until you can confirm if they work or not!

Thank you all for your answers! I looked into the EPC but i believe that it only works on PCs and i am a Mac Person. Correct me if I am wrong because i would love to have it.

Greg_B just to clarify the 31470-60120 number is for 11/84 and after?

thanks again
