Ok guys I need your help. I have a prado LJ78 and I had a starting problem. We shop got it fix by changing a sencer on the fuel pump but since that I got a new problem. The engine light is on and that give us a code 12 (valve in the pump). I lost a lot of power can`t go over 80 Km/h and the Turbo light don`t go on at around 2 500 rpm like it use to. So I don`t think the turbo is working. The garage think than I should now change the fuel pump. But I wonder why the pump would be bad sudently after changing a sencer.

Anyone have any idea? What would you do. And can we rebuid thoses pump insted than changing them.

You can rebuild the pump but I wouldnt do so yet.
Your shop sounds like amateurs who want to keep replacing items at your expense until somethings works.
A proper diesel shop would pull the pump off and test it on a machine for pump pressure.

But I would be investigating the turbo problem 1st.
Pumps rarely go bad overnight

LJ78s are notorious for problems relating to fuel delivery and cylinder head failures....

It may be the pump, but there are other sensors that control fuel delivery volume - the temp sender on the side of the block under the intake manifold is one of the main ones.

Changing to a non-electronic injection pump is a better solution than replacing the 2LTE's electronic pump. These can be had from a 3L, but may require slight recalibration.

There are no English (or non-Japanese, rather) language manuals for the 2LTE that I have been able to find. There are manuals for the 1KZTE in English available online - the injection systems are nearly identical from what I can tell.

Your turbo boost light should come on well before 2,500 rpm depending on load.
