I have not, but I'm also looking for a rack or a design that I can use to fabricate an overhead kayak carrier or all purpose rack.

I need something that breaks down easily in the driveway so I can get the truck into the garage.

Interesting idea. What about the width (driver to passanger side). That could be a problem.
