Best tires size for my FJ73 ?

Dear all,

my FJ73 (model 1991 FJ73LV-MNV), my rims size is 16, so what tire size I need to install? any idea?

Currently each tire has its own size! funny I know, it seems the previous owner don't care .. but for me I want it to be fit, best size and to have good grip.

im not so sure if its existing rims are the original, please see the attached picture. All what I know it is size 16''.

Depends where you want to go in it and what you want to do with the rig , where are the places you want to go off road and what type of terrain

actually I need for both, off and on roads, I will be using the car just for weekends and for desert, our land is flat, few small mountains, not that much ..

I read some where here it will be 255 85 R16? ..

i am not sure if you could fit 255/85 R16 without lifting your sweet 73, they are quite large with over 33" in diameter. however i am pretty certain 235/85 R16 tires with a rough MT thread pattern would be the business.

I am a huge fan of the tall and skinny look, mostly because it does not completely ruin your ride comfort but still offers good looks.

Wouldnt a wider tire be better in the sand? I also like the tall skinnies, but here we drive mainly on rocks and muck, not desert sand.
