I have a new canvas soft top that is not keeping the rain out. Has anyone used a product that worked great for water proofing their canvas tops?
Many thanks.

The problem with wax is it attracts dirt and dust to stick to the fabric. My motorcycle belstaff gear is a waxed canvas and its good on the road but not good in the bush.

i've had no issues with my rtt which was treated with nikwax a few years ago and it's been through 9 days in wyoming which can blow sand/dirt/silt into a closed tent

If you want to make your top impervious to water, this should do it:

I'm planning on giving it a shot when my top is done.

Magical videos on the Internet, from several companies. From what I read, this stuff does wear off. It has a milky/chalky translucent, not transparent, finish to it; handles some abrasion, but not much. It can dissolve painted surfaces.

I also wonder how slippery it might make a surface such as a seat cushion, or overspray on the garage floor--can you get it off with Acetone or such? Some brands specifically state not for fabrics, despite their videos showing it on cloth !

It is a developing technology, however, so may become more viable in the future. Yes, we need a volunteer to test it out for us. Included with your trial will be a Ginzu knife set, an onion chopper guaranteed to produce no tears, and oven gloves for use at 300,000 degrees.

Perhaps you are referring to Rust-oleum's version "NeverWet". Apparently their product received less than stellar reviews and also leaves a chalky film after applied: http://lancasteronline.com/article/local/878224_NeverWet-aims-to-repel-negative-review.html.

If you have found poor reviews for Nano Tech, please post a link.

The product I'm thinking about trying is the Nano Tech "Fabric and carpet coating".

I'm more than willing to be the guinea pig but my 45 will not be done until sometime next Summer. Maybe I'll try it on a Trasharoo first and see how it does; discoloration, durability etc.
