I got about 1.5 years out of a RD radiator I had on my 60... ouch $$

Elbert, did you use the rubber isolator pads on your RD radiator? They cost about $90 extra unfortunately (via man-a-fre). Just wondering if you did, and if you still got cracks.

I've been running a RD without the pads for about 4 years now, no issues, but I would bet I don't wheel it as hard as you.

yes I used the entire set of parts that were optional to install the radiator...I bought it through Man-a-fre along with the "install kit"...
I'm not crazy rough on mine...allthough I do off-road with it....I just don't get the chance to go that much. I've had far better service out of the old school brass 4 row I have now.

For anyone wondering, I just put a Mishimoto aluminum in mine and it was a 100% perfect fit with no modifications whatsoever. Another bonus, they have a lifetime warranty, including accidents. Meaning if it leaks 10 years from now, free replacement. If you jam a tree branch through it off roading, free replacement.

where did you source it from and is there a specific part number.....may help others.

Everything was 100% bolt in, no modifications whatsoever.

Cool thanks. Also saw a previous post that someone had to drill new holes to match the fan shroud, good to know you did not have that issue.

May get the Mishimoto this time instead of the Performance rad that I can pick up locally. Current rad is leaking bad now, need to pull the trigger soon.

Ya, someone also told be their mechanic had to "heavily modify" it to fit. They couldn't give more details as they paid someone to do it. At least for my truck (100% accident free) every single bolt hole lined up perfectly, both on the radiator mounting and the shroud to the radiator. I didn't have to tweak or adjust a single thing.

I posted this in another thread, but it's relevant here as well. Outside temp of nearly 118F, idling with A/C on full blast in one of my bays at work for over 20min. Temp gauge in the truck reads ever so slightly over 1/2 way. It drops to 1/4 when driving, but I definitely don't trust the gauge totally.

I bought a champion off eBay just a few years ago. Fit was OK, but I did have to do some twiddling. It's now leaking. Always seemed to run warm too. Going back to 4-row copper.

@BlackCat

How has your Mishimoto held up? What coolant are you running, Red or Green ?

Seems like the folks who run the Toyota Red (or equivalent ;) ) with Alum Rads don't get the leakage problems.

Thanks for answering!

I just googled -- I always thought Toyota Pink was the same as Red. It's not, far as I can tell, though they may be brothers... But I think the most important is using distilled H20 or premix w/ alum.

Anyway, I've been running a CSF all-brass for 8 years and it's been great. :meh: Just good to know for the future.

Red is long life and pink is super long life. Not sure the chemical differences though. Toyota pink, like my Infiniti blue, is pre-mixed.
