I’ve heard that parish is a good shop. I think that’s where @jcardona1 had his done a while back. They are located at Madison and watt I think.

Yup! Parrish is the spot. They are highly recommended on Pirate as well. Here's the old post from my build thread:

After a 2 week wait the head is finally back from the machine shop with a clean bill of health! She's almost too pretty to put back on, almost :flipoff2: Owner at the shop said everything came out perfect. Here's the breakdown of everything done to the head:

- Full testing and cleaning
- Resurfaced 0.007" (7 thousandths)
- Full valve grind and adjustment to be in-spec (grind valves, seats and tip stems)
- New valve stem seals (OEM, which I provided)
- New exhaust valve guides ($120 extra, intake side was in-spec)

Final bill was $590 due to the new valve guides. Great experience dealing with the guys at Parrish Automotive in North Highlands. Highly recommend them.

That's a good price especially with guides.
After I posted up a couple friends recommended motor machine in sac.
Called and got a 560 estimate
I got it back Thursday and it all looks good except the bill climbed to 720
They called n said they had it cleaned and pressure tested but the head was twisted and had to be straightened before they could do anything else.
I okayed the fix but told em to do another pressure test after the fix.
The communication from these guys was horrible
The final bill said full valve shim replacement but I had marked all my shims for proper placement prior to tear down and all the shims in my head had my marks on them.
Made a phone call to find out they but grind the valves when they dont have the proper shims in stock, n the guy at the counter told me he did not notice the machinests remarks about but grinding the valves so he put full replacement instead.
My fingers are crossed on this one since already done.
