Hey folks, trying to help my bro out here...

He put some OME greasable shackles on his 60 and he says there were some stickers that told him what grease to use in there or better yet, what NOT to use.

Just so I don't steer him in the wrong direction, what is the best grease for thost things?

Thanks.

Was it molybdenum disulphide?? I just put OME on my 60. I do not have the boxes anymore, but I think that's what it was. Anyone confirm?

Right or wrong, I just always use regular grey moly grease & I have poly bushings.. The same stuff I put in tie rods.

HTH, John

I was just going to tell him to use M1 synthetic. Can't really go wrong wit that.

They are the yellow poly bushings.

Hey, I would use ams oil syn grease. It holds up great in water and dirt, and has a very hight heat range. Toyota says it can be used in all grease points on your rig. Most of the ams products are compatable with all of the different types of lube. Just my two cents..Ben

That red sticky stuff is what I would use. Umm did use

I never thought about it eating it, at least if you had to take it apart you could get the damm pin out... not like stock.

if he's got poly bushings he can use pretty much anything. if he's using rubber bushings then a silicone grease would be best; petroleum based greases are not rubber friendly...

i'm partial to moly based grease.

I would think that whatever you already have in your grease gun would work fine.

My new OME springs have a sticker on the side of them that says the type of grease to use. It'll have to wait until morning now, as its gone 11pm and i've just parked the truck up and about to park myself up, but i'll go out and read it later if you want..?!

That would be great. Thank you Sir!

I would have to say that you would not go wrong with some good lucas oil grease

x2 on the molybdenum stuff mentioned before. that is what mine recommends.

I really dont think you could pick a bad one.... as long as it gets done.
