Best EGT probe location 1HDT (1 Viewer)

I have my 1HDT exhaust manifold off so where is the best place for the probe? Pictures would be great.

Here are a couple pictures of where mine is. It came in the crate from Japan with the manifold drilled and tapped already, but the placement looks right to me. The heat shield was already drilled out as well.

If one is drilling into the manifold, isn't it risky as the particles may fall and enter the turbo?

Cast iron drill swarf is usually fine granules.
It can be done on car. Small risk of swarf doing damage.
Drill and tap it with the engine idling so any swarf that falls into the manifold is blown out the exhaust

No worries the manifold is off.

Have yet to purchase the gauge or probe but 1/8-27 seems the most common. Any reason I should go larger?
