BEST DIESEL FOR A 64' FJ-40

    JUST WANTED TO KNOW WHAT IS THE BEST DIESEL ENGINE FOR MY 64' FJ-40? I AM INTERESTED IN THE 1HZ BECAUSE IT IS CLOSE TO THE 2F IN SIZE AND OUTPUT. I WANT TO STAY AS TOY AS POSSIBLE. LAST THING, WHERE WOULD ONE FIND A GOOD DIESEL. I FOUND SOME ON G&S BUT WAS HOPING TO FIND ONE IN THE US FOR LESS. THANKS FOR THE HELP. ???

    The cheapest Toyota diesel is probably a 3B or 2H from a crapped out Canadian BJ60/HJ60. Buy the whole enchilada and part out the rest to get some money back.

    As fas as a 1HZ, it's hard to beat G&Scruiserparts prices. The 1HZ on eBay a while back was $4000 without transmission or transfer. SOR has a low mileage 1HZ/H55/split for $9350.
