very sad world when a guy goes the distance to keep people safe and he gets fired for it

Assailant flees cops and Best Buy security guard (a vet) takes down the guy

Then gets fired for doing it

Stupid world

I hear by boycott Best Buy
 
I hear you Johnny!

But, I also understand the company’s position.

I’ve seen a number of companies fire employees for violating this same policy.

Their reason for the policy is potential liability, should the policy violation result in injury or death to that employee, other employees or the general public.

It’s always better to give up material stuff, in the face life threatening situations... it’s just stuff.

Physical threats don’t typically fall under the purview of this policy.

Regardless, it is irritating to see someone step up and be terminated for it... it seems like there should be a better way to handle the infraction.., like leave without pay... and a gofundme, started by a coworker, to recover the lost pay.
