Wanted Bellhousing for H55 swap

I am looking for a bellhousing I can use in an H55f /3FE swap into an FJ40. I believe a 4 spd bellhousing will work. Also any other misc. parts for this swap as well.

I think you will be looking for a 3 speed bell housing, not the four speed.

You can use a 4 speed bellhousing and grind a bit to clear the ears on the bearing retainer.

OR

You can get a bell housing from an 85 up FJ60 with 3F cast in the top, and it will already have the relief for the ears of the bearing retainer.

Correct. FYI I am told that if you go with the 3f bellhousing you need to use the crossmember from that application as well due to the fact that the 3f bellhousing rotates the tranny a few degrees counterclockwise and so the mounting angle is slightly different for the crossmember...

I have a 3F bell housing in Tulsa. Came off an 85 FJ-60. Good condition. Needs cleaning. I do not have the cross member for it.

I have shipped flywheels to California via DHL for $20. This will be blukier but probably the same weight.

Does the 3f bellhousing have the same mounting points to the frame so as to bolt it into an FJ40? I am new to all this and just trying to get it straight in my head. Do you have the fork, slave mounts, ect.?

I believe that the 3F bellhousing is the one you want for an H55 swap. As I understand it, the 3F bellhousing was added on FJ-60's from 85 to 87 with a spacer between it and the H42 4 speed. The spacer makes it the same length as an H55.

I am unsure of the mounting points. I probably have the clutch fork. Not sure on the slave cylinder stuff. I will check tonight. I have a 76 FJ-40 that I am working on. I can compare the mounts to that.

I looked at DHL and they only ship overseas now. Shipping might be costly.
