Before I mess things up again I thought I would ask first

How does one go about removing the windshield washer nozzles from the hood of a 2000 LC ?

Thanks

On inside of the hood they have small clips that hold them in place. Carefully push the clips inward towards the actual nozzle and push on it from the top side. It will pop out towards the inside of the hood.

Cheers

I did it today. I used a pair of needle nose to pinch front to back clips and then pushed it up from underneath.

Sometimes it helps to remember which one was on which side, might save you having to tr and aim the jets after you re-install them.

Glad you asked as I am going to try and clay bar my hood and see if my little orbital can help my paint and am needing to remove my nozzles.

What magical needle nose pliers did you use?!? I have a long pair - still doesn't work... no room in the hole to open enough to grab the nozzle. I can grab the water line... but that's it.

And, can I/we get some clarification - one post says to push in toward inside (assuming that means the engine-side of the hood), the other shows the nozzle pushed toward the outside (assuming that's the sky-side of the hood.)

"...and push on it from the top side. It will pop out towards the inside of the hood."

"...and then pushed it up from underneath."

Okay... never mind. I got it. I found using a flat-head screwdriver much (!) easier than needle-nose pliers.

- With one hand, use the screwdriver to push one of the tabs in
- With the other hand on the outside of the hood, hold the nozzle and rock it up and away from the side you're pushing on with the screw driver
- Then do the same with the other side of the nozzle

You can see the tabs in the pic. I couldn't contort enough and get light to see the nozzles, so I took a picture... oriented the screwdriver based on the pic... and the nozzle just about fell out.

On the driver side there's enough slack in the line to remove the tube at the nozzle. On the passenger side, remove the line about 6" away at the connector.

glad you got it sorted out.

I also used a flat screw driver and pulled up on the nozzle from the outside to get it out. My brother on the other side was trying with pliers and I finished mine and took over his side :) I am not sure what pliers other used but the ones we tried sucked.

I was replacing the hood so it was off the truck and upside down at the time every easy to do it that way LOL.
