Just about to register my HDJ81 that I purchased from out of province. Do these things require a BC assigned VIN? My designated vehicle inspector isn't familiar w/ JDM's and says there should be two serial # locations. He can only locate one.

Thanks!

Thanks for that.
I'm not calling into question my inspector's ability to do the job. He's just not familiar w/JDM's- it's not his fault and we all have to learn somehow. Now he knows! That was his conclusion w/re: the BC VIN.

The rest of the inspection is complete and all passed w/ no worries.

there should be a vin on the frame, driver's side front wheel well, and also under the hood.

Might still be helpfull. As said you will require a BC vin #,takes less than a week to get ,try any insurance agent for the form, the # is placed on the drivers door jam and is all that is required, you have a option of installing a second one, stamped with 1/4" numerals either on a plate permenantly mounted(welded) in the engine bay or stamped into the frame, but again the second one is not required..
