I really like this group picture I got at the end of our day.

@1world1love what have you done as far as engine bay covers? All removed?

I have kept mine. They do help a little with engine and road noise. Honestly, if I took them off, I would either need to store them somewhere or offload them. The easiest thing is just to leave them where they are.

I replaced all of my clips with some that are slightly easier to get off using a little pry tool, and I can have all three covers off in about a minute or so.

Hi All, Reaching out here looking for some help (thanks @1world1love for the suggestion).

Took the LC for a trip this past weekend and we lost the engine. I am sourcing another to swap in, but am having trouble finding a spot to do the work. My current landlord lets me do general maintenance and stuff, but with no garage a swap would be a bit tricky and exposed.

Anyone have any suggestions on someplace I could rent to do the swap with my dad? We have all the tools and would leave any place cleaned up. If needed we could rent through our family business that is fully insured and can provide COI. Appreciate any tips.

I've used their facilities once. It's pretty good space, not crowded, and has many of the major tools one may need.

Agreed, we should set something up! Anyone else interested?

On my end I finished rebuilding the engine, got it swapped in, and just took it for a ~850 mile trip to hit some trails along the Eastern Sierras. I have a thread showing all the history of the swap over here: Misfire on Cylinder 8 and Oil in Intake Pipe Investigation and Engine Swap.

Here are some shots from the trip.
