I was just wrapping up a 400 mile road trip when I noticed the red battery light appear on the dash at a red light. It would only appear at complete stops, when I'd take my foot off the brake and accelerate it would turn off. Any ideas?

Yes. Low rpms when idling = fewer revolutions of the alternator rotor. It’s likely that either the brushes are worn down to nubs or the regulator is bad. Both are easy to fix once the alternator is out.Would the idea here be that the rpm’s while driving are enough to keep the light at bay? And when idling the light will reappear?
This is a great site. Thanks.
