My battery connector on negative terminal occasionally pops off and leaves me with a bad feeling when starting the truck...especially when no spark in back country, pop the hood push it down and its all good. Only does it when on bumpy roads but Its annoying and I cant seem to find a good option at local parts stores. So, does anyone recommend a good aftermarket set up (links please), to include winch and other future mods I may tie into it. I would like a solid connection and a clean look. Was going to post in power forum but doesn't look like a lot of action over there.

I have four sets of these Ancor terminals on various batteries. I like using the terminal wingnuts for easy batt cable connections/disconnections by hand. These are high quality terminals, but semi-pricey. I use the tinned brass ones (I avoid lead where I can). Ancor makes decent stuff. I am putting another set of these terminals on the batt in my new trailer this week.

I run a single homemade Ancor cable to the positive terminal of the batt hooked up to a Blue Sea buss bar (second pic above) mounted on the backside of the black plastic battery box. The buss bar is then the batt connection for all OEM cables and AM accessories, including a few Blue Sea fuse panels scattered around the 80. This keeps the battery clean of the myriad cables to would otherwise be connected to the batt terminal.

I prefer the military style but the OEM parts from the dealers work really well

I did the exact same as @mct75 posted. Didi it on my 96 LC and on our son's 70 GMC K2500.

Advance Auto ... nice and snug, had to tap it onto the terminal with a hammer. It's not going anywhere.

^^^^ There is always that one kid in class blowing the curve for everyone :flipoff2:

eliminate the problem for ever and increase reliability
I cant put my finger on it....but doesn't look quite like my battery. What is this magical sorcery called?

Its an additional #4 ground that terminates at the frame and not compromised, no worries.;)
But still, makes me question your commitment to Sparkle Motion perfection.

Is your battery hold down bracket present and accounted for? I had a similar problem then noticed my hold down bracket wasn't holding my battery in place causing the battery to bounce around.

FWIW, I use the OEM positive side battery terminal on both the positive and negative side. For my spare battery I use the bolts like LCP has. When I upgrade to two Group 31s I'm going to steal LCP's idea on both. Just makes sense.

All marine spec batteries have the extra threaded stud...
