this was in late 2018 when I first bought the Apache and it was waiting for the chassis etc so work could begin...

this is a picture from insides Sebs shop giving a better idea of what she looks like now. When she’s fully ready I’ll do a proper shoot and hijack the thread with a few pictures. But back to cruisers, here’s my daily 😅

Terrible picture, but I was excited to get the new retro plates on her. 1984 Fj60 juuuuust about to hit 100k miles, all original paint, interior and engine.

That’s a very nice Apache! I look forward to seeing more pictures when it’s finished. Here’s a few pictures of my 56’ GMC I’m working on. It will never be as neat as yours, that’s not part of my plan. But with a 3/4 ton 4x4 chassis, a 6BT and 5 speed it will be as much fun!

Beautiful! The whole Apache project started because I bought a 495 hp crate ls3 to be the heart of a slammed fj40 I was planning to build. When I figured out the size and price of the fj40 project I ended up scrapping it and selling the 77fj40 I was going to use. It didn’t make sense to me to spend so much on a car that would never be sellable and might not even turn out as very user friendly. So the plan changed, I found the Apache, and ever since it has been years of buying more and more stuff to put into the project. Super excited to finally be able to drive it soon hopefully. Unfortunately mine isn’t 4x4 like yours, but should be fun on road I hope.
What chassis did you use if I may ask? It looks awesome!

I bought a 76’ 3/4 ton 4wd Chevy chassis that is currently having a length adjustment performed by a local fabricator.

It’s been a while, I’ve been busy and so have the guys at the workshop.. things are coming together and cleaning up nicely. Nothing better than a clean engine bay. Lots of cleaning to get to this point, it’s 30 odd years of Saudi muck that had to be removed 🤣

Life caught up with me and I have been neglecting this thread, but I have good news..
Took the 45 for the road test today and she passed with flying colors. Seb and his team did a fantastic job getting everything how I wanted, and it was fun to finally drive around a bit as I got gas and took her for a little bit of a spin. As of today I still haven’t been able to find an original headliner (the one that came in it needed replacement), and the upgraded ac that I chose is bolted in but not connected yet. These two small final touches are all that is between me and doing a proper shoot.

we decided to cover the inside of the roof with heat/sound deadening material so the top of my head doesn’t bake in the Dubai sun. I’d say she’s just about perfect.
