Old ball and claw axles, are they 10 spline just like a coarse spline birf?

I have this set of solid AL old warn hubs (not cast) are they any stronger than the the later Warn hubs?? With their size, they would almost have to be..

I'll take this stuff all apart when I have a moment to verify. I am just curious right now

The ball and claw are 10 spline just like the early birf and use the same lockout hubs. I don't know if they are stronger but I do know the splines have to be lines up before you can turn them into locked.

Are these hubs you're talking about kinda shaped like a coffee can with a brass dial? Or are these different still?

Well not that it matters but technically the old axles had 10 spline inners but the birf end is actually a 6 spline.

yeah, the old warn hubs had the brass dial and were not fluted.

Straight sides. They look like the OLD warn logo..
