Just picked up this 95 Right-Hand Drive VX Limited Cruiser in Washington after arriving from Japan a few weeks ago. Currently on a trailer headed to Chicago.

Car wasn't starting so we replaced the battery, worked great for a bit and then wouldn't start 10 minutes after turning the car off. Few lights in the dash were on including, Oil, A/T Temp Oil, Catalytic Converter Overheat, and red light for the battery. When attempting to start, it made a clicking sound and after charging the battery up for a few minutes it would start right up no issues.
Tried to turn on the lights and lower the windows and it turned off once again. Definitely think it's the alternator.
Anyone know if the parts are the same as US land cruisers? Everything looked identical, except for the break booster that is on the other side.
If parts are the same, is OEM recommended over third party alternators found in parts stores?

Had a quick test drive and it drives awesome. Will be changing the fluids as soon as it arrives in Chicago.

Toyota is rebuilt with new Denso parts. Denso aftermarket alternator is rebuilt also but less expensive, take your pick. Denso from Rock Auto is a good buy.

Be careful, some cheapo aftermarket alternators that say "Denso" are made in Chyna, it's just the core or the original design that's Denso (type).

Thank you! Will check out the Rock Auto Denso one.

Once the delivery is completed do a proper diagnosis, check the battery, alternator, fusible link, could be something other than the alternator.
Yessir! That’s part of my plan. I also wasn’t able to get a full look at it so could have some cables that are not plugged correctly. Hopefully no big issues.
