They were pretty good! Will have another crack at them sometime for sure.

They were good as a cold lunch on a roadtrip, and good hot too.

I can see them being tasty with loads of different fillings

Stopped and had a beer and snack at a taphouse in downtown Spokane, WA.

Bacon wrapped onion rings with gruyere cheese...

Has to be one of the greatest things I've ever eaten in my life!!!

Any of you guys made your own bacon?
Wondering if there's a foolproof recipe.

I realised after being in USA earlier in the year, Aussie bacon is very different.
It's mostly sold in a fully cooked state so it's safe from liver fluke parasite.
It completely changes the texture and flavour.
I've found one brand that does small vacuum packs of raw bacon, but it's not awesome, and is expensive for what it is

Damn, I keep thinking of the Bacon wrapped onion rings.
Have them by themselves, or lay them on a flat grill and fill the
center with an egg. I saw that once before with just a plane onion
ring, but Bacon would put it over the top.

then deep fry them.
