Backlit overhead buttons

I was curious why my buttons didn’t illuminate, so I took the overhead console apart. I don’t know anything about circuit boards , but it appears that these tiny bulbs are built in to the board ??

The buttons are illuminated on my LX. They also have two amber ambient lights. The 2020 Cruiser overhead console is as dark as night.

I asked this very question the other night. So on 2021 LC the buttons are not illuminated. But some models they are? Just the 570?

I can confirm that on the 2020, the overhead console is black as night.

It’s likely the same board as they use in the LX, except Lexus gets the “luxury” feature of backlit buttons. My IS350 has backlit everything so that sounds about right.

The wife and I were just talking about those buttons two nights ago. Our '15 LC are dark as well. If someone figures out how to make them work, that would be awesome.

Are you sure those are LEDs? I would expect LEDs to be square or rectangular and have circuit traces going to them. I think there are only the two there for the map lights.
