I'm installing a new back hatch, the previous one was rusted beyond repair. Anyway, I'm swapping the glass. I've already changed out the lock and wiper motor etc.
Number 1 does the glass push out to the outside or push in to the inside.
Next is I don't know if I can get the small chrome trim straightened out when I get the glass back in. Is there a trick to that or should I buy it new if I can find it? It's no long flat, it curves up due to how I had to remove it.

Thanks for any help you can give.

the window should go out to remove.
are you changing the rubber? my guess is it will be very stiff if original.
if changing rubber, just cut the old and not fight it.
I can't help with the chrome strip pieces

The stainless steel lock trim in the rubber seal will get mangled when removing and trying to reinstall it. It will never look perfect again but can be reused if it's removed super carefully

Thanks for the input. I got the new hatch in and transferred all the components and got the glass swapped. I'm going to look for new rubber though, I don't trust the old rubber although it looks ok.
