I have heard that a turbo can't be installed on a B engine. Is this true? Is it due to the engine or has nobody made one? Would it be possible to "build" one myself with available parts? The other question is engine age. How many Km's before a turbo is not worth the money? I have over 600,000 Km so I thinking I should run her into the ground and then maybe put in a 3B. The other option would be a rebuild and adding a turbo at that time.

Any thoughts?

I knew a bloke who mounted a small turbo from a Nissan car on his B diesel. He turned the stock exhaust manifold upside down and mounted it above it. Worked really well. Nice power from idle upwards. He made a shield to protect the hood from the heat with the words "fry eggs here" written on it.

Welcome to the forum Paco. As said above please do some searching. This site is a weath of info. Lots of already talked about things await.

If you were thinking of running it and then replacing it I would not bother turbo'ing it.
Run it till its done. Slap in a 13b-t. Already turbo'd and direct injected.

But if you want a cheap turbo build your own and turn the manifold upside down. Stick on a little mitsu turbo and try running.

You could do one for probably a few hundred if you source out all junk yard stuff. Also search on here more about the diy turbo's.

Lots of info on here.
