Long list of issues.

John, Glad you got to stop over there while you were in town! What issues did you see with them, poor workmanship, wrong parts or both? Just always feel like the restored 20 series should garner more interest due to the rarity but it never seems like they do well at all compared to 40 series.

Well my comments would be to educate the seller/buyer, not to irritate either.
Not sure what this one sold for but here are some things I noticed.
FJ40 chassis, axles, 2F, steering box, single circut brake master cylinder for the disc/drum brakes.
Wrong tail, brake, turn, lights.
After market electric wiper motors. Missing engine crank handle bracket.

Front non stock 25 shackles were over inverted from maybe getting lowered from a tow truck.
Next time I’ll write things down.

Makes for very deceiving advertising on barrett jackson

" It is powered by its refurbished 3.9-liter 2F-type 115hp overhead-valve 6-cylinder engine with the block number matching that on the firewall tag. The engine is mated to its original 4-speed manual transmission."

lets not forget the cheesy checker auto horn button on the side of the steering column and the spectre inline fuel filter

John,
Looks like it sold for $42,900 plus whatever fees are associated(?). Posted the price for posterity in case for sale ad disappears.

I’d be awful upset if I was a buyer who didn’t realize it had been so blatantly misrepresented. So it seems it’s basically a 40 with a 25 body dropped on it?

I do love the early badging and gauge cluster on the ‘57!

The 1957 FJ25 issues from memory.
Aftermarket front bumper
No license plate bracket
No engine crank bracket
Tailgate made from barn doors
Spacer on tire rack
Top twist ems holes filled in
Wrong windshield hood bumpers/latches
Wrong running boards
Wrong gas can straps
Wrong choke/throttle cables
Wrong tail lights
Wrong rear license plate bracket and light
Wrong rear view mirror
Wrong wiper motors and arms
Wrong hood hinges
Wrong shackles
Missing gas fill gasket
Wrong transmission boot

Only way to see if it matters is to talk to the buyer. Perhaps down to the details spoken here may not matter , even though the big things like engine , frame etc. were fraud.
