What are the differences between the solid axle out of older model 4runners and that of the early model landcruiser (pre 74')?

Big difference. Different size ring gear, housing is larger on the cruiser, cruiser has removable dif cover. There's a write up in the most recent Toyota Trails. Also, Woody did a minitruck/runner to cruiser hybrid.
For 3rd members Land Cruiser's are larger, but Week due to the Course Pinion up to 77.. 78+ went to fine splined pinnions
If your talking about front axle..
All Toy Minitrucks and 4runners had Disc Brakes Larger Steer arm Pattern, Slightly larger(diamiter) Birfield (30 Splined)
Pre 74 Cruisers had Drum Brakes and 10 Splined Birfields (JUNK)
75 was a split year
76 and up all had 30 splined birfs
79 and up Used the larger Minitruck Steering arm pattern and Birf
All Cruiser Disks are Vented rotors, minitrucks are not..
Mix and Match and get the best of both worlds
