I am wondering can I use the birfs and knuckles and hubs from a fj60 on my 72 landcruiser axle housing without changing the inner axles

what i really want to know is are the inner shafts fine splined at the birfields end?

Yes, you can. You will need to grind a little on the lower axle housing for the larger fj60 birfields. IIRC the knuckle arm tie rod end taper is different, so you'll need to put in taper inserts or cut down a 60 rod. Check the tech links for details.

luckily I have the whole housing and all the tie rods



on the short side i can swap the whole fj60 birfield and inner axle cuz its the same length as an fj40

do the fj80 tie rod ends have the same taper as the fj60??

does anyone know what size the spindle nuts are??

they look pretty big

And if I remove the Disc brake dust shield will that mess up the spacing between the spindle and the knuckle ???


mine are so rusty they arent worth putting on
