Did this go anywhere? I may have a regear on the horizon, really prefer to do this local
It has not happened yet, but I have all the needed parts to rebuild and regear both diffs. I might try getting diffs out his weekend, but I haven't started putting together a list of what seals and gaskets I'll need to put the axles back together again. For example, am I going to need new felts for the birfs? They're only about a year and half old but do I need to replace them if I take them out?

I would, they’re cheap’ish. If all you need are the felts and not the backing rings I’m sure I have a pair of spare felts lying around somewhere

Thanks for the offer Dumpling, there a few one time use gaskets in the front and rear axles so I'll order them along with the felts.

I tried pulling the rear diff today and thought it would be an easy (1-2 hour) job but I spent 4 1/2 hours on it and still haven't been able to get it out. I pulled the rear axles, removed the rear drive shaft and removed all the diff screws including the two on the left attached to the factory e-locker. The diff pulls out about 1/4" then seems to be catching on something around the e-locker and won't come out any further. The right side will pull out about 1/2" before catching. I read that the e-locker should be engaged but the reason for this is to make reinstalling the axles easier. I don't think whether they are on or off effects removal of the diff. Am I missing something?

Odd. Sorry I've never been inside one of these, all my knowledge is 8"
Thoughts @alia176 @Tank5 @William839 ?

Hmm I think i pulled the Actuator and used a screw driver and put the “gear” right in the middle and it came right off , last 3rd I pulled was in my taco and did the same .

Not having been into a factory locked axel…that’s my gut feel would be to mess with the actuator.

Yeah, what they said 👆🏽

William839 my engine is out, my electrical connectors are mess, and there doesn't seem to be power getting to the e-locker. If I pull the whole e-locker would that resolve the problem. When you said you used a screw driver to put the "gear" right in the middle, what gear are you referring to?

Alia, I read the detailed write up you did on Diff removal awhile back, very useful, thanks!

I did a write-up? Dang, this memory of mine is slipping 😁. Glad it helped out.
