I have an auxiliary fuel tank that I picked up for my FJ40. I bought it second hand and it did not come with any instructions or mounting hardware. I am hoping someone will recognize this tank and be able to tell me who made it and how it is supposed to be mounted. I was considering welding it to the frame, but am not sure that is a good idea given frame flex. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like a conferr tank or one of the many similar variations. There's installation instructions in the tech page here

I have the same issue, have tank but no straps. Mine was originally held by 3 very long bolts that went right through the tank and bolted into the floorboards. I'm thinking about either welding some angle brackets to hang it from the frame, or using straps like in the instructions. Good luck, I'm waiting to see what you come up with

I have a similar tank a skid plate mounts it to rear bumber and cross member. I think that downey might sell just the skid plate I saw it somewhere it might also have been allpro Sorry been awhile since I looked for parts
