BTW, both the Apollo's and the SC oscars (and Super Oscars as well) can be had with HID, at least here in Japan.

Australian 4WD had by far the best driving light comparison I have seen and I just found a great pdf link. Not all the brands are available in the US, but this will give you an unbiased view and most importantly will show you the different beam patterns.

I have a pair of Piaa's that are mounted on my ARB that I like. They have an amber fog beam and a super white high beam. The bling feature is that they have little white marker lights that light up the light assembly (sort of a la BMW halo lighting effect) when my headlights are on.

However the best "bang for the buck" lighting upgrade that I made was getting the HIR High Beam lights through Safado's group buy. I am way more impressed by the brightness of these lights than my Piaa's.

If you want something to light up the woods...I would definitely include these in your plans too.

Agreed. The HIRs that Spence set up are awesome. Combined with the Slee harnass and it's almost like a new vehicle. I then added 3 Hella 4000s (2 euro and one pencil beam) to my ARB. It's an excellent set up.

How did you mount your 4000s to the ARB? From what I'm seeing they won't fit without modifying the mounts.

welded some tabs onto the bull bar. the thread. a lot of people brought up the cooling issue. not hot enough here to find out yet. i had no issues at CM running all day at a snails pace.

OK DMC, and NorcalDoug this involve you too...how is it that the LF 240's will fit on an ARB without alterations but the Hella 4000's will not is the mounting screw for the 240's that much of a different offset? Also, dmc, would the 4000's fit in the holes on the ARB but the bars blocked the top part of the beam or was it that you could not physically get the light into the mounting hole and put it up straight? thanks guys...
