aux light wiring through relay

pros and cons about using highbeam headlight hot wire to activate relay for aux light.

You would need to have the brights on to fire up the Aux lights. That works but I say don't involve your normal lights.
The down side:
If your Aux switch is On cruising down a paved road and you kick the brights on and accidently blind someone and they drive off the road.

Thanks Brian. The difference I drew from traditional hot wire switch, I was looking for opinion on switching the ground. Less wiring to go through the firewall.

Exactly, I only want the aux on with the high beams. The high beams don't cover off to the sides and at night there are a lot of deer around the roads where I live. Hard to see until you are right on them.

then why dont you use the light switch to turn them on?? you wont have to run any wires inside
