Automatic Door Lock question? (1 Viewer)

In every single car I have ever owned whenever I put my car in gear the doors lock. My new land cruiser (armored) ironically does not do this and I would like to buy the part or accesory that performs this function preferrably OEM....Any help is greatly appreciated.

mine locks when taken out of park, so i would address this with the dealer.

my stealer wants to install a crappy chinese aftermarket alarm that will do the trick...They dont have a clue how to reprogram it....I live in South America and you can imagine how frustrating it is to know your right while the "toyota" guy just nods his head and says your flat wrong...

You can customize either the driver's door or all the doors in both Park and Drive. Lots of options...

The dealer should be able to enable or disable the locks. Here's what it says on the shop DVD for an '08.
CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS
1. CUSTOMIZING FUNCTION WITH TECHSTREAM

HINT:

The following items can be customized.

NOTICE:

When the customer requests a change in a function, first make sure that the function can be customized.
Be sure to make a note of the current settings before customizing.
When troubleshooting a function, first make sure that the function is set to the default setting.

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Customize Setting.

(e) Select the setting by referring to the table below.

Unlock Key Twice
ON
Function that unlocks only the driver side door when the driver side door key cylinder is turned to unlock once, and unlock all doors when it is turned to unlock twice. For the OFF setting, turning it once unlocks all doors.

Auto Lock
OFF
Function that locks all doors when the vehicle speed reaches a certain level.
ON/OFF

Auto Lock/Shift
ON
With the engine running and all doors closed, function that locks all doors when the shift lever is moved from P to any position other than P.
ON/OFF

Auto Unlock/Shift
ON
Function that unlocks all doors when the shift lever is moved to P from any position other than P while the engine switch is on (IG).
ON/OFF

All Unlock/Open-Close
OFF
Function that unlocks the other doors when the driver side door is opened within 10 seconds after the engine switch is turned off.
ON/OFF
