This tread is now going to be the main detail/info/ Group buy section for the Red Line Slinky Long Travel Suspension. I will have links from the 80 series pages and our web site as well. Starting tomorrow!

I'm sure there are questions regarding how many kits, pricing, specs and so forth are coming so, for now I will tell you that I will be up loading as much info as possible tomorrow. We will be doing a group but in/first come first serve basis on these kits. So If you are serious about getting parts/kits from us, (my self included)!!! Please post up or pm me. I have a shipment coming in and it varies from 50mm, 70mm and 75mm kits, Slinky Coils, intermediate rate, Heavy( ultimatetouring )" stage 1 and stage 4. 80 series will be our main shipment, other series kits are to follow depending on demand! The best part is, We will be bringing in kits for the FJC, 4Runner, 80, 100, 200!!!

I need to weigh my rig but, would the intermediate rate spring be for winch bumper, sliders, spare tire carrier ? I would be interested in the 75mm stage 1............

I'm doing a 5.3/4l60e conversion on my 80 and want to do this suspension in a 3" over stock height but not sure what mm equivelant that is... Not sure where I should go on the stiffness rating... This will be more of a tow/recovery rig for my Toyota mini truck... Could either of you get me pointed in the right direction?

jkdowty, you could do the 75mm intermediate front set up with the #ultimatetourer set up in the rear if you carry say an extra 660-1100 lbs in the rear.

I plan on putting bumpers front and rear (custom Dowty's Fab & Design bumpers 3/16plate and 1-1/4 x .120 DOM) with a spare tire carrier on rear I haven't gotten into the expedition/over landing yet but hope to once I get this swap done and the "toyminator" mini truck back up and running(needs a head). Do you think the ultimate tourer setup would be soft enough if the rear of the vehicle is empty, or would it make for a stiff rear end if empty?

Woody runs our intermediate rear coil set up for a constant 400lb load in Gretchen.

Our 900lb constant load coils sit 1" taller for the described load over the intermediates at their described load.

This in a set up truck is aprox 31.5" from bottom of rim at bead to flare or fender lip front and 33" rear.

Add 1/2" for 17s to those measurements.

We are also going to sell the coil springs in sets as well. If one does not want to purchase the full kit. I should have all of that info, specs and pricing up by friday!

Any chance you are going to have a "build your own kit" option?

I believe some of the data from a couple of 80 tech threads will be best served into a slinky tech thread in this vendor section so it will cover off the height vs rate and metric to imperial etc etc as well.

Custom to suit the actual application is always king :grinpimp:

In general rates, especially for rear coils, we like to amake a slightly taller free height and slightly softer rate to improve unloaded ride quality, which can make the rear be 3/8 - 5/8 taller unloaded, but come back to the prescribed height required at its constant load capacity rating. Sometimes you dont want to share "everything" ;)

This applies to FJ, 80, 100, [105 ] 200, as a general rule for design.

My point it's if you are running said rear 3" OME comp coils and OME said those are 280 lb/in coils if my memory serve me right .. and you wan't more rate, then you have a base to order / buy " stiffer " coils for a given height ..

I't should be the same with shocks .. vendors should have an standard and you should be able to order X/Y valving to suit your needs if you already know what you have and know what you want ..

Are the coils silver or black. I really like the look of the silver coils on Woodys
