August Club Meeting

It's the August "Hotter than Hell" version of the Lone Star Meeting.

Club Meeting is this Thursday, August, 8th at around 7:00. Pappa's BBQ on Northwest Highway in Dallas.

The beer is COLD.


For anyone new coming out to the meeting:

The Land Cruiser guys meet at the East end of the restaurant, the Taco/FJC guys are on the other end.

Not that exciting...little get together at Toby Keith's bar across the street...so you can bet I won't be in the 40...but I do have the tow bar on it, so that would make a meeting trip alot easier.

Well... dang!

It looks like I'll miss the meeting tonight. I'm stuck on a "must do" project and I have to go home and let the dogs out after I complete my project. I doubt I'll be able to get to Pappa's before most of y'all bug out. Nothing to report, y'all have fun.

Well yesterday I got home from work and found the left front tire was flatter than a pancake. Not sure if it's foul play by some jerk around the apartment complex or a little surprise left over from the trip on the weekend but I could swear it was fine just that morning. So basically my excitement for the night may consist of getting the spare tire down from its perch if I can budge the rusted looking stuff it's hanging with, and get it driveable for the weekend. I might as well replace all 4 tires since no one will probably want to fix a 12 year old tire. No meeting for me tonight.

It was great see new Cruisers and meet some of the Texas Cruiser community. A few of you asked me about my Cruisers in Georgia. The following are pictures of the two Cruisers that have been my daily drivers over the last twenty years. The 40 is an '81 model (picture is 8 years old now so my navigator has grown a lot since). The 70 is an '86 model. Miss the girls, but they are better off parked in the shop rather than the parking lot.
