Swapping out the old 2H for a 1HZ. Every Toyota I've ever owned uses ATF in the PS system but, the lid on this new engine says to use PS fluid. The !HZ Chassis FSM says to use ATF Dexron2 and so does my 25 years of experience. Thoughts?
Thanks!

The only fluids I've seen used as "PS FLUID" are ATF and LHM+. LHM+ is green, lower viscosity and does better in the extreme cold. It's used by mostly euro car makers and tractors.

The application is just hydraulic oil though and dozens of fluids will work fine. ATF is a very good fluid for the price that does better in the cold than most hydraulic fluids.
