I did the post 2003 nav delete and installed a Pioneer AVH W4400NEX for the head unit. I got an axxessintegrate ASWC 1 to retain steering wheel controls. The unit is supposed to auto program and just work. It works. Sort of... Problem is that the buttons are all wrong. I tried the reprogram but not sure how to proceed.

Anyone else have this issue? It seems to be a Pioneer issue.

I had the same issues helping someone with that same headunit. Make sure that the plug is all the way plugged into the back of the headunit. I fought with it for about an hour and realized that it was not completely in.

Hmm. That's good advice. It doesn't plug into the port very solidly but it's definitley in there all the way. Do you remember which jack you plugged it into? I put it in the upper one(with W/R over it). I think that's right. I couldn't find any specific "SWC" type of port on the unit. IIRC, the W/R stands for Wireless Remote...

W/R is the correct port. When I first plugged it in, the wire was hitting on other wires making it come out a little. I had to turn the plug so that there was no interference with anything else.

Ok. I’ll give it another try and report back.

You may need to reset the unit after making sure it is plugged in all the way so that it can autodetect again.

Well, no luck. I tried removing, wiggling, partially inserting, reprogramming. All that sh!t. I’ve even considered modifying the plug or jack to make it fit deeper but don’t want to go that far. The controller definitely recognizes the head unit as a Pioneer.

As a matter of fact, it’s worse now.

If you bought it on Amazon send it back and get another one.
I've installed two of those no problem. One pioneer one kenwood. I'm sorry I don't have any other advice.

I’m screwed on the return. I bought it back in December when I thought I had the time to pull this off. Then work jumped in the way for months...

I have a more expensive. More labor, more wires, etc one, sitting at home you could have. The PAC version I think. I don't know when I'll be home though.

Thanks Jerry. I might be interested. Got any info on that one?

Did you use the Metra 70-8114 harness to attach the ASWC 1? If not, it makes it plug and play other than hooking up power and ground. I used it on both of the installs I did and it worked great.

I did at first but had space issues behind the head unit so I just wired direct without the plugs. The 8114 connector I got didn't actully lock into the factory plug either. It just pushed into place. I didn't like that. Install was still easy as it was just three other wires in addition to power and ground. Thing is, now only volume up works and it's in the wrong position still. I'm going to call the company today to see what they suggest. I might go with the SWIX that Jerry has above too.

Maybe a dumb/covered question somewhere in the 2003+ Nav Delete thread but do all of these interfaces (iDatalink Maestro, SWIX, AWSC-1) offer exactly the same functionality? Which one offers the most functionality? Do any of them interface with ODBC and offer info on car system status (like engine temps, etc...)

Thanks
