I was just looking at my emergency preparedness items and found some of the items were way past their expiration dates, did some research and found I am way behind the times with only about 3 day's worth of food and water for my family of 4 . I noticed there seam to be a lot more "preppers " out there than before some people have up to 2 years worth of food and water stashed away ! now I doubt well ever need that much stuff, if it comes to the point where we need 2 years worth of food, I think there will be a hell of a lot of other problems to worry about.

I think Ill aim to have a couple of weeks worth of food and water on hand - if it gets worse than that ... Ill be moving up north in the middle of nowhere.

3 Days is the general rule. But with the continued degradation of emergency services, food and fuel for 14 days would be wise. Our nearest military help will have to come in from Alberta and that isn't going to be fast enough. Most people forget that their hot water heater is a good supply of water, as is the water in all the pipes in the house. You need to flush your hot water heater at least yearly or the water from it will be heavy with sediment. Also, after an earth quake you should shut off water from the street to prevent contaminated water from entering. <Of course, if you got natural gas, you'll be shutting that off immediately.> Rain water from a couple large water totes should be enough for sanitary needs.

You'll both need a bigger army and a lot more weaponry. When the civil system breaks down, it usually isn't too long before 'war lords' who organize their own militias take control of everyone's life.

Only a matter of time before this dude shows up.

LOL Probably the safest place to be when the s*** hits the fan is where there is no one else.

I've living like the zombies are already here. Just go to the mall, they're every where

A case of ammo for an SKS is way way cheaper than a 2 year supply of MREs, just saying.

I doubt it would ever come to that. The Canadian experience has always been to band together during adversity and live in a sickening hippy-style communal utopia.

If it does come down to a dog-eat-dog reality though any Alberta deer hunter with a single round is going to take your case of ammo as soon as you stick your head out the door.

Zombies don't set up play dates.

So now i also have to watch out for an invasion from Alberta lead by Elmer Fudd.
s***, the world really has gone to hell, but they are pretty easy to spot.
He's the guy in the motor home doing 50kph in the fast lane.

To be fair, I've seen them doing about 140 to ???? kph in the fast lane. However, the slightest bend in the road will have the stubble jumpers crawling no fast than your top speed in your 60's LR. :D

You guys are both right. The twits here actually considered making the right lane the fast lane for a while.
