My '77 FJ40 has a bent rear axle. The axle shaft is bent with approx. .10" of runout that starts, best I can tell, at the wheel flang and ends about a foot in toward the differential.
I figured this out after my wife noticed the l/r wheel wobbling when she was following me up the road. I switched wheels - same wobble, so I pulled the axle and chucked it my lathe. Definately bent somehow.

Spector wants $533. for a new one but has used ones for $90.

Do driveline shops or someplace straighten axles?

Do these bend often - it's almost 2" thick - seems tough enough.

Lots of used ones around. I've bought them as low as 2 for $50 on this board. They do come up for sale with some regularity. I think Cruiserparts.net might be your best course for a good one with out spending too much $. You could put an ad in wanted-Someone may have one thay don't want.

lots of people have spares...I have about 4 pairs, and don't even run a Cruiser rear anymore.......a post in the wanted corner outta net ya quite a few in your area...

Poly makes nice stuff, I hope those axles come to production.....

Yeah, I'll put an ask in.
Surprised to bend this and I'm not even sure what did it. Thought I might twist and break an axle with the new gearing in it, but bend??

Looks like Polypro hasn't set a price yet?
