My '77 FJ40 has a bent rear axle. The axle shaft is bent with approx. .10" of runout that starts, best I can tell, at the wheel flang and ends about a foot in toward the differential. I figured this out after my wife noticed the l/r wheel wobbling when she was following me up the road. I switched wheels - same wobble, so I pulled the axle and chucked it my lathe. Definately bent somehow. Spector wants $533. for a new one but has used ones for $90. Do driveline shops or someplace straighten axles? Do these bend often - it's almost 2" thick - seems tough enough.
