What about my response was ironic?

Rats chew on wires, that's a given, and in recent years Toyota began using a soy based insulator for their wiring looms. I'm not going to state that there is a causal relationship here as I'm not a rat and can't speak to their taste preferences.

Some speculate rodents are attracted to specific frequencies some wires emit regardless of the products used in manufacturing.

Perhaps you can share some insight here?

Did you read the whole thread? I said I was confident our Cruisers are included the list of vehicles that made the soy switch. After digging I found that starting in 2012, all Toyotas have been wired using a soy based insulator.

I've been the only one here directly answering the question posed and include a link to Honda's anti-rodent tape to address the issue.
