Well on Monday I let my brother borrow my cruiser and when he was about 300 yards from where he was going a woman ran a red light in an H3. He hit her passenger side in the front. An offset collision on both cars. I'll let the pictures do the talking but I think it saved my cruiser from damage that would for sure have totaled it. She doesn't have insurance so that just made the situation even better.

Insurance company was going to Total it at $3100 but he worked with me and told me he didn't want to, he liked these old things. He got it up to $2800 in damages so less my $1000 deductible I have $1800 to get it fixed.

Going to look at a parts 60 tonight. Always wanted a 60 front end.

Does anyone have any tips on doing this type of work? Have never messed with body work so I'm going in blind.

You have to swap radiator supports to put the 60 headlights, headlight doors, grille, indicators and valence on.

You have a lot of work ahead of you on this one.

I listed the parts that (at least) you are going to need and install
in your other thread...

Also keep in mind all the stuff that's bolted to the old inner fenders
and old radiator support that will need to be unbolted and reinstalled to the new parts.

Effing uninsured drivers. That is ridiculous that you have to pay your deductible for that.

Yeah sorry about this double thread. Accidentally posted it on my phone in the 40-55 forum.

Hit her in small claims court. Here in Texas it costs $35.00 to file a small claims case in a JP Court. You don't need an attorney to file this type of claim. Based on what your post said, it was the H3's fault. Get a copy of the accident report and then subpoena the investigating officer to court to testify to his findings. You can then ask for 3x times the amount of damage done to your vehicle. It's a one banana fix:banana:, just have to give up a little of your time.:grinpimp:
