ARB vs SRS on 1997 LC (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know if the installation of an ARB bumper inhibits the airbag's function? I have searched this site and the internet, and not gotten a definative answer... For those of you with ARB's, did the manual say anything about this? Or, is the airbag deployed via a sensor under the seat that detects rapid deceleration as in some other cars and have nothing to do with bumper impact?

There are some pictures of IdahoDoug's brother-in-laws car in a nasty crash where the bags deployed with an ARB--the thought is it helped keep the frame rails together during impact. I wouldn't run with out an ARB personally.
