Anza Borrego Mid June (1 Viewer)

Hey, looking to see if Anza Borrego is a good idea during the summer months, since I will be in San Diego for a little over a week in mid-late June. Is it unbearably hot out there in June? (I know, it's the desert, duh!)

Any suggestions on what trails to check out for a first timer? I'd really like to see the slot canyon areas that I keep seeing pictures of, if possible. I could do a day trip or overnight. Also, any locals willing to join would be awesome!
