Anyone wanna wheel next Sunday?

The HDC member was AJ (bonfire on Mud). Funny thing is, even though I didn'nt do anything rough, I killed my truck. Kieth gave me a jump after lunch, but when I got home and turned it off, she would not start again. With a bit modification to the battery tray I got a new optima in. She started the first time but would not start again without a jump. She just wont start up on her own. I already checked fuses, battery is good, but I noticed that the stereo was turning off when I turned on the AC. Sounds like that is the first place to look. Any other ideas?

BTW nice pics

Hold.... The.... Phone.....

A BJ-70? Why haven't I been informed of this. I must speak with this individual.

Dan

Well maybe you don't make to enough meetings or runs :flipoff2:

Hopefully it will show up next weekend...

Didn't you just put in the new headunit?

No maybe about it. I don't make enough meetings or runs. I am, however very good at visiting the scenic Holiday Inn Airport in Houston, TX. (why on earth anyone would live here is beyond me--I know life'snot fair, but Houston is ridiculous!)

Seriously, if it's at the next meeting (which I beleive I'll miss--again) I really would like to meet up with the owner and check it out sometime.

It was a very cool truck. Originally from Japan (right hand drive) and it got to NM through British Columbia. A 1988 model with factory removable hardtop, Toyota turbo (13 BT engine - maybe?), and factory PTO winch (temporarily removed for inproved front clearance).

I am drawing a blank on the owner's name, but we invited everyone (diesel owner and AJ/bonfire) to come to the meeting next weekend. I warned the diesel guy that he'd have lots of interest in the truck if he showed up.

P.S. Keith - thanks for the pics! We had a fun day out there.

I don't have a clue, but keep us posted once you figure it out. I was glad we were able to get you moving with a jump start yesterday.

Haven't gotten around to that yet. Not sure if with all that crap it has if that harness is going to make a difficult install. I have read some of reviews and some say it is a PITA.

It looks to be the starter is going bad. Going to fix the contacts. And it didn't help, the "new" Optima wasn't putting out enough juice (11.5) to get it started except for the one time. That has to go back.

Thanks for the jump Kieth.

You might also consider new brushes for the alternator. Once the alternator is out, it's about a 5 minute job. I watched Robbie do the install on mine while he was here. The brushes are also pretty cheap - about $15 - 20 from CDan is what I remember. It's cheap insurance to know that you are giving the battery a good charge.

Glad ya'll got out & did some wheeln. Gonna have to check out the Puerco sometime: that sandstone looks cool!

gotta make a meeting or 2 as well. ;p

We will put put you on the list with Diesel Dan and Onur! :flipoff2: Anyone else I missed?

Well, I've seen those 2 dudes at least once this year: can we call that a side-bar meeting & get credit? :hhmm:

I've never met you.

Carol, looks like you are running up a slippery slope! Of course I'm sure everyone here still loves you though. I don't make many meetings myself. More than two for sure.

I've never met you.

Well some poor guy offered to bring parts to Evan's from Cdan, when my 60 was getting lifted (and PM'd) and had to go back for a second trip.

Thought that was you, my bad.
